Internet Marketing 2012

Ok, so i have spent the best part of three years studying and practicing Internet Marketing with the intention of becoming a trusted and honest source for information, reviews and general help with what it takes to become successful in this highly competitive arena.

My views are honest, my information has been gathered by reading book after book, blog after blog, hard-drives full of PDFs downloaded from everywhere and anywhere and a seemingly never ending array of inbox messages telling me that have the 'best product in the universe', 'top secret guide', 'we do the work for you', 'join now quick only 10 places left'..

I am sick and tired of all the liars, cheats and sneaky marketers out there who basically trick people into spending there money on products with clever marketing, suggestive word phrasing and false testimonials.

I choose not to use these methods and so this is the road that i personally have taken and will be pursuing for my Internet Marketing business in 2012.

So you want to become a successful Internet Marketing Entreupenuer?...

Sounds like the perfect life doesn't it?

  • Work from home
  • Be your own boss
  • Huge profits
  • Creative work
  • Unlimited abundance
  • Work and Travel anywhere in the world, with just your laptop and Internet connection

Where do you see yourself living one year from now?

A flash Manhatten apartment? A cottage in Ireland? Beachside hut in Thailand? Hotel in Bali? Australian beachfront? Snow capped mountains in New Zealand or even Utah? The world is yours and yours only. Every mistake is a learning curve and every road-block a stepping stone. I believe a man/woman should be paid for there ideas and not the hours they work. Enthuasiam, professionalism, knowledge and charachter are equally important. This is a business and not a hobby. Make that clear in your head. Business is ruthless and competitive. The winner makes the most profit. The loser makes less or none.

The idea behind me creating this series of Hubs is to give you an idea of what it REALLY TAKES TO SUCCEED ONLINE. No BS or lies. This is straight up, as i have learned after over the past three years of working with my own Internet business.

I felt that many courses and eBooks give part A and B but leave out C. This is frustrating and unfair. It is difficult enough getting started as an Internet Entreupeneur - affiliate marketer without being lead down dead end roads and bombarded with the 'new top product' ,' Super secret software', 'what the pros don't want you to know'..etc.

The reality is;

  • This is a business.
  • It requires time and patience.
  • You have established competitors.
  • It cost money to run a business.

But...

  • It can become the reason you quit your job and become your own boss.
  • It can become the reason you are time and cash RICH.
  • It can become all that you imagine it can be...

The truth is... Can you handle it?... Are you ready for the challenge?

  • Hubpages :)
  • Brainstorming
  • Creating content
  • Keyword Research
  • Market Analysis
  • Writing Articles
  • Sales Pages that SELL
  • Gathering relevant images
  • Autoresponder Opt-ins
  • Follow up emails
  • Monthly newsletter
  • Design Websites - Squeeze pages
  • SEO - Search Engine Optimization
  • Create eBooks
  • Affiliate programs - Clickbank, CJ, Amazon, eBay, ShareaSale
  • Register Domain names
  • Set up hosting
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Adsense
  • Google Adwords
  • Backlinking
  • Multiple products
  • Blogs - Wordpress, Hubpages, Squiddo, Blogger
  • Video - Youtube
  • Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, Digg, RSS Feed, MySpace.

There is so much to learn when you begin but you can do it. It is possible to achieve anything if you put your mind to it but it is up to you and only you to begin on the road to success with your very own highly profitable Internet business.

Personally, my vision was to be able to work from anywhere in the world. Simple.. That was the vision and unless i came into some serious money somehow, i do not see any other alternitive than the Internet.

Your most precious commodity is your time. How you use this is completly up to you. If you work full-time and are looking for a bit of second income, this can be just that. If you have any amount of free time and want to begin an empire, an empire you can have! You get back what you put in.

If you keep creating content, buying domains, setting up websites and promoting affiliate products, idea after idea, market after market, you will become wealthy and eventually - after all the hard work - be able to run the business on auto-pilot.

There is absolutly, 100% guarenteed no 'Quick Fix' 'Make Money Overnight' 'Get Rich Quick' scheme that works or do i ever promote. These are hopeless ideas preying on the newbie and the desperate. Clever marketing none-the-less, but praying on the weak.

It takes a vision, ideas, a plan, possitive attitude and proven business model to create your Internet business. Step one is to read about it. Read everything. Let the information sink into your subconcious. You can never read to much when it comes to Internet marketing and eCommerce. This is a business, and if you didn't study business, it is definatly not a bad idea to learn some of the basics.

The quickest route to failure is to rush. Speed kills in the online world. There are definitive steps to creating your online business. Stray and you will get lost. Get information overload and you may quit. Sign up for the wrong course and you may lose money.

It takes careful planning not to fail like 98% of Internet businesses. I am going to show you the steps required as i did and it is up to you to impliment these into your business idea if you see them as practical to your interests.

This is a business not a hobby!

To run a successful business, one must invest in it. But invest slowly!

Registering a domain name is absolutely essential and can be purchased from $11 per year with Go-Daddy. Once you have your domain name you will need a to get some Hosting. Personally i used to use Blacknight who are an Irish company but there network was breached and i no longer use there services. I researched my choice and have found Hostgator come out tops with almost all Internet marketers. They have a very user friendly dashboard with links to all sorts of useful information, 24hr help and live chat, endless blog posts and customer reviews.

If you would like some flash FREE Wordpress templates go ahead and check out this link for the Top Wordpress Themes of 2011.

But to get started, domain and hosting. That is it for now..

DO NOT INVEST IN GOOGLE ADWORD CAMPAIGNS, PPC OR FACEBOOK ADS ONTILL YOU HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY ITEMS IN PLACE TO MAKE THE MOST OF THESE CAMPAIGNS.

OR YOU WILL LOOSE MONEY. EVERY DAY. EVERY TIME. THAT IS THE REALITY.

STOP AND THINK...

Ok, so you might be thinking ; here's the catch... But it is the truth. If you dive in at the deep end, you will fail.

The Internet is really the greatest invention of our lifetime.

Learn to use it for your greater good.

I will go into the finer details of chosing a domain in another Hub but the general thesis is, have it short - relevant to the website - keyword in the domain if possible and .com or .net.

This might seen like only a small bit of information but getting to grips with Go Daddy and Hostgator's dashboards, watching a few tutorial videos and doing some keyword research for your domain names can take a bit of time and is worth not rushing as these will be resources you use all the time with your business.

My next Hub will involve the use of Wordpress with you Hostgator account. Instaling a theme, redirecting your domain to Hostgator's nameserver and where to find quality free themes.

I was interested in the vote - almost 100% vote for success in internet marketing! I find this very encouraging, because IM can be a lonely business and it is easy to feel that your efforts are not as good as everyone else's. The main thrust of this Hub - that IM should be regarded as a business if you want to succeed - is spot on.
