Brainstorming
The basic plan for a sustainable Internet business is
- Website
- Content
- Product
- Traffic
- Trust
- Presell
- Products / Monetize
- Database / Autoresponder
Brainstorming for you business is very important and usually the first part of the process when beginning a new venture with you Internet business.
Brainstorm your topic or niche. Get out a pen and paper, write you topic word and draw a circle around it. Write down words, ideas, products, websites, advertisements, competitors, books, hobbies.. No matter how irrelevant it may seem at the time, all successful projects begin with a brainstorm. Involve your family and friends. Ask them what comes into their head when they think of your Niche.
Everybody knows something about something and you are no different!
Think of how you would create quality content with information that people are searching for in the search engines. You need to create a quality and informative product. There is an abundance of free information out there if you know how to search for it. As with anything, practice makes perfect and if you can afford it pay someone else to do it!
If not, the you will need to do some keyword research (Use the Google free keyword tool). The more specific you are to your niche the better chance you will have of ranking high and getting that all important targeted traffic to your site.
You need to begin at square one like everyone else. All the great Inventors and Internet entrepreneurs began somewhere. Einstein, Henry Ford, Edison, Ewen Chia, Marc Osofersky, Joe Vitale were all once where you are now.
When you have your content created it is important to remember to overdeliver. If you give more than you promise then the potential customers will be happy and possibly be return customers and sign up for you newsletters or RSS feed.
There are a variety of factors to consider when you begin your online business. Honesty, consistancy and reliability are key components to a successful Internet business. Customers are more likely to buy from a trusted source and will continue to buy from you once trust has been established. If you are making bogus claims like:
"Make $1000 overnight, Guaranteed"
"Stay at home mom makes $500 per day, you can to in 2 hours a day".
You might make a few sales, but these products are usually outdated and irrelevant in todays Internet marketing world. The customer will not buy from you again. Even if the product is hald decent, the people who buy these products are inexperienced and possible beginner Internet marketers who will be more interested in the dream of these claims than actually doing the work. It does not happen like that, full stop, no exceptions! Time, patience, hard work, lots of learning and a never ending journey.. It is important to maintain and establish trust and you will have return customers for life.
One of the keys is to not pitch for the sale first time. The person landed on your site for a reason. If that site is about 'making money online' then they are interested in starting an online business it would be safe to assume. The main objective for you as the site owner would be to capture their email address in an opt-in form. People do not just give away there email for no reason. You must provide really good information and offer something of value to the potential customer for their email.
The Internet is a global, ever expanding information highway that is growing rapidly every year and with the introduction of mobile smart phones it has exploded with wifi everywhere and endless searching by potential customers.
All best on your journey.
